Tracey Leahy steps up as Managing Director
27/02/2009
One of the Island's most successful family businesses is entering a new era. On March 1st 2009, Tracey Leahy will take on the role of Managing Director of MannVend, as her father Brian Leahy steps down.
Whilst Brian will retain an active interest in the business in his capacity as Chairman, Tracey, who has a degree in Business Communication, will build on her extensive marketing experience to grow the business.
Commenting on her new appointment, Tracey said, "I am both delighted and proud to be taking on the new role and facing the challenges that lie ahead. This year we celebrate 40 years of being in the Vending Industry here on the Isle of Man and this anniversary is testimony to the focus we have placed on exceeding our customer's expectations and providing a reliable and efficient service. In this current climate customer service has never been so important and features heavily in our strategic objectives."
Tracey first joined the family business in 1998 as Sales Manager, before her promotion to Sales Director two years later. Her role as sales director has spanned a particularly successful phase in MannVend's history. Under her energetic direction, the company has gained recognition from within and outside the vending industry. She has played a significant part in driving the company's strategic growth, and achieving a series of coveted industry awards for the business.
Her business acumen is recognised beyond the confines of the company, and she sits on a number of Industry committees and regularly represents the Vending Industry at conferences in the UK and Europe.
Tracey is a valued member of the Isle of Man Red Cross Fundraising Committee, a co-opted governor of Anagh Coar School and a member of the Dream Catcher Charity Advisory panel.
With two young children she has little time for many hobbies but has discovered a new love for running and would love to get her Private Pilots licence one day.
Brian Leahy says "I am delighted to welcome Tracey into this role. Her vision and energy will be invaluable for MannVend especially as we approach more challenging times."
