Following a catastrophic fire that all but destroyed their premises, Baker Tilly Isle of Man Limited have now moved back into their splendidly refurbished offices in Douglas.

The fire, which was started by an electrical fault, devastated the main reception area and caused widespread smoke damage throughout the whole suite of offices. However, thanks to a robust disaster recovery plan, no time was wasted and the team were able to ensure business continued almost uninterrupted from a variety of temporary premises, with many offers of help and support from local businesses.

After a year of hard work, the work-force is now back in the centre of town in their stylish new offices on Lord Street. The stunning offices are a tribute to Natalie Radford, Facilities Manager, and the team who have done a magnificent job and created a really beautiful environment for staff and visitors.

In line with the tastefully elegant decor, the refreshment facilities have also been upgraded and staff and visitors now have access to speciality coffee and teas. A bespoke dark wood and granite refreshment station which was commissioned from Andrew Williamson Furniture, sits very comfortably in the plush surroundings and accommodates a Korinto Bean to Cup machine using freshly roasted coffee beans.

To compliment the coffee selection, a Flavia 400 sits next to the Korinto and serves a variety of herbal infusions and speciality teas. For water lovers the Water Logic WL4 provides chilled still and sparkling water.

Natalie told us: “We have made a considerable investment in our refurbishment and felt that the quality of refreshments available should reflect this.

“With over thirty staff, the refreshment station is busy throughout the day and we have received very favourable feedback.  The Korinto is easy to use and produces a really great cup of coffee. The smell of the coffee beans is also very inviting for visitors to our reception.”
